With his most unusual single to date, Just Loud has yet again managed to grab ROUGH ONLINE’s attention instantly, for both his music and his visuals, which on this occasion are presented in the form of an unexpectedly alternative, Slow Jam-esque track the singer has entitled “Diamonds and Dope Boys.” New York’s current King Of Pop-Rock previously blew us away with catchy singles like “Electrified” which we still have on repeat even now, as well as the infectious duet with Blondie’s Debbie Harry “Soul Train.” Unpredictably, our favourite music act of 2018 has dropped an Indie Ballad with an Urban edge, where if the late Prince would have collaborated with Lenny Kravitz the results probably would have sounded a little something like this…a Rock-influenced, Alt-R&B song which opens with an Electric guitar riff, initially leading you to believe that it will be another one of Just Loud’s energetic Electro bangers. But needless to say, Just Loud does not fail us with his fearlessness one tiny bit with one of his best vocal performances, sung solely in his higher register throughout, using head voice format beautifully, and a Rap in the middle 8 section where the singer reveals his sexy, deeper tone and Rough Online are in awe of this masterfully delivered and effortless contrast.
It is as though the multi-talented music artist is literally capable of creating anything musically, evidenced on such a diverse portfolio of material from his forthcoming, self-titled debut L.P which is expected to drop early next year. Even in Diamonds and Dope Boy’s music video there are no surprises…because his image is just as charming as his new single is, with the singer’s hair styled in two ponytails either side of his head, showcasing himself at his most handsome whilst wearing a vintage, Victorian-esque ensemble. To sum Just Loud up…he is a rare find in terms of the amount of talent he holds and delivers. Download and stream “Diamonds and Dope Boys” out now.
