ROUGH ONLINE
are loving 4-Piece Electro act Dead
Ceremony’s new track “All This Noise”
taken from their upcoming E.P “Heartache,”
so much that we repeated at least 10 times the first day we gave it a listen to, mainly for the song’s unusually catchy, Horn-sounding hook, that contains an effect which bends the beginning of each note, similarly used in German Dance producer ATB’s 1999 throwback Ibiza classic “9pm (Till I Come),” as well as vocalist Christopher Stewart’s British vocal, slightly reminiscent of Frank Muzik. Beginning with a glockenspiel-like synth playing the tonic key over a deep bass line, setting the scene nicely, soothing choir voices are then layered on top of the Slow-Jam beat consisting of a traditional Dance kick and “finger-clicking” snare which drops in through the first verse, preparing us for a Dream Pop experience in the chorus where Stewart delicately sings “all this love and all this noise” alongside meditative keyboard sounds.
Christopher’s emotionally timid vocal performance is quite simply so captivating that ROUGH ONLINE fell in love with it from the get-go, because of his genuine, London-phrasing of words, whilst naturally going against the stereotypical masculine traits of a conventionally deep, raspy voice, adding himself to the list of other Alternative Synth male artists that are vocally breaking the mould, such as Alfie Indra. The song ends with an instrumental section, showcasing the track’s catchy hook, with supporting humming harmonies in the background over a clean, electric guitar arpeggio effected by some Reverb which brings out the beauty in the overall music production, and eventually brings “All This Noise” to its’ climatic ending. Dead Ceremony’s new track is definitely one to chill out to at Café Del Mar in the sun this summer. Check out the official lyric video, out now on YouTube.
