The summer may be over, but “Ace Of Pentacles” is without a doubt a song which you could easily listen to, but more specifically chill to, all year round. Just take in the relaxing vocal tone of Elias Abid, and let it take over you, as you lay back and listen to Summer Heart’s recent collaborative single with Abid. Opening with a relaxing Organ synth playing a meditative melody over a Trip-Hop influenced beat in the verses, with the use of a side snare hit on and off the beat, reminiscent of the drum programming we all universally fell in love with from Dido’s 1999 debut album “No Angel,” specifically on songs “All I Want” and “My Life,” Heart’s track “Ace Of Pentacles” eventually delves into a Reggae-esque rhythm in the chorus sections, where the singer grabs you via the lyrics “hey baby, don’t you know, ace of pentacles, I want to live alone, don’t you know I’m one of a kind,” which pretty much don’t make much sense at all, hence why the song intrigues and grabs your attention even more so with the utmost wonder.
Trust Rough Online when we say that the infectious hook of “Ace Of Pentacles” will make you feel so nostalgic, especially once you get lost in that throw-back Mark Morrison-esque, British R&B swag that the track delivers perfectly, an ole-skool piece of music production we simply cannot get enough of. Recently Summer Heart and Elias Abid finished their “Never Ending Summer” tour which promoted their collaborative project “12 Songs of Summer.” All we can ask of these two talented music acts are...will there be another project, this good, coming again any time soon? Check out “Ace Of Pentacles” available on all online stores. This track is way too chilled to ignore.
