Collaboration | Richard Quinn | Liberty

For this collaboration to come into fruition, Peckham-based designer Richard Quinn
was given a total assess by Liberty into its archives of selection of its 45,000 prints. A selection of the 1960s, 70s and 90s clippings was Richard chose which he splashed his mash-up of the Hydra, Ellen, Dahlia, Daisy and Phlox florals onto 30 accessories and in his own handwriting writes liberty across each of the canvas.
“Liberty has been part of setting textile and print trends throughout history, so it was a great opportunity to find undiscovered prints that have not been reworked by the house, and to bring our different styles together. I reworked and art-worked a vintage piece of Carline fabric, and changed it into a more aggressive floral with a much larger scale and more saturation. Liberty saw this and thought it would be an interesting way to update and show off the archive,'' said Richard Quinn.
The Director of Product at Liberty, Amelia Hornblow commented on Richard Quinn's collaboration and work..“His use of colour and texture captures the Liberty spirit. Liberty London is a launch pad for new talent and will continue to discover and work with inspiring people.”
The campaign was styled by the designer himself with the aim of it being ''Insta-ready'' where he incorporated the body suits and foil which we know has become his signature. The launch date for the collection is set for the 9th of July exclusively in the liberty store and online. With prices ranging from £70- £695.
