It’s fair to say that Olly Murs has made one hell of an impression with his new music, presented in the form of “Moves” featuring Rap legend Snoop Dogg and “Take Your Love,” and the two singles are to appear on Murs’ sixth studio album “You Know I Know,” a brand new L.P and “greatest hits” combined. What can we say about the new tunes that one of the UK’s most popular singers has dropped over the last month...they’re pretty flipping awesome, and if the infectious Reggae piano rhythm of “Moves” with a Daft Punk-esque bass line which throws you back to the 1997 single “Around The World” as well as its’ funky, Electric guitars weren’t enough to make you want to dance your arse off, maybe Olly’s brand new track “Take Your Love” will do.
Of course, none of us can get over “Moves” comedic music video in which we find the singer bullshitting his way into a club, wearing a geek-chic ensemble and messy hair, not giving a fuck what anyone thinks of him, and we love him all the more for it, especially when Rowan Atkinson makes an obligatory, comical appearance (following the single’s inclusion on the “Johnny English Strikes Again” soundtrack) after Murs’ has drunk a can of Moves, transforming him into a suited and booted, confident gentleman, strutting his stuff on the dancefloor as we are used to seeing the cheeky fella do. However, if his slick vocals and the hook “it’s your moves baby, cause’ I can’t dance in the way that you do,” as well as the Pharell Williams-influenced production weren’t enough to get you excited about Olly’s new portfolio of work, then you really need to give “Take Your Love” a listen to...ROUGH ONLINE’s favourite song of his to date.
Opening with an R&B Pop rhythm delivered via a memorable melody on xylophone-esque synths, “Take Your Love” throws you from the realm of Ed Sheeran’s 2017 single “Shape Of You” to a similar Dance music production to duo Blonde and hitmaker Calvin Harris via the House-influenced piano chords in the chorus sections, which finishes with a catchy keyboard melody reminiscent of Major Lazer’s distinctive Electro sound. Basically...ROUGH ONLINE love love love “Take Your Love” and we advise everyone to turn the volume right up on this track. We seriously can’t wait for the new album to drop. Download and stream “Moves” and “Take Your Love” by Olly Murs, both out now on all online stores.
