The new single “Nobody”
evidences the reason why Matt Cardle
became one of the UK’s best singers, because his voice is full of the utmost soul. Having recently released his fourth studio album “Time To Be Alive,”
the multi-talented music artist on this occasion teamed up with songwriter Bryn Christopher and producer Jim Eliot
to release one of the most profoundly emotional songs of 2018, and there’s no other vocalist best suited to sing on such an emotive, heartfelt piece of music than Cardle with his vulnerable tone, especially when reaching those beautiful higher register notes delivered both using his head and chest voice masterfully, which is supported by a Gospel choir in the chorus sections, all together sending the biggest chill down your spine and giving you enormous goose bumps. It would be no surprise if by the time the second verse drops you are already in floods of tears.
It is by far one of the best singles Matt Cardle
has released to date, and one of the most underrated songs to come out of 2018 so far, a song which uses a memorable chord structure performed on a reverb-effected piano, complimented by a great string arrangement, and of course an emotional vocal performance by Cardle himself. Comparable with the work of songwriter and record producer Ryan Tedder, you could easily think of “Nobody”
as a softer, more haunting version of Kelly Clarkson’s 2009 single “Already Gone” or Beyonce’s famous ballad “Halo,”
and if you thought that Cardle’s comeback single “Desire”
was as much of a captivating, Alternative, Synth-Pop banger as ROUGH ONLINE did then you will instantly fall in love with his brand new single. Matt Cardle’s “Nobody”
is out now on all online stores.
