Levin’s slick voice could quite easily join the recent wave of Pop sensations such as Ed Sheeran, if he continues to release uplifting and captivating E.P’s like his newest effort Runaways, which delivers memorable hooks, synths that take you away to The Balearics, and an acoustic guitar which is sometimes played in a fast country style rhythm like on the E.P’s opening title track. You can instantly tell that Levin wants you to experience an element of freedom and to put a smile on your face stretched from ear to ear on “Runaways,” especially after watching the official music video which takes place at a Theme Park, capturing random people having fun on Go-Carts and Carousels while Levin sings passionately into the camera.
“Miss You,” reminiscent of Dua Lipa’s “IDGAF” due to its’ melancholic guitar riff, and when the beat drops and the catchy brass melody kicks in after the chorus you are taken to the realm of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” along with Levin’s “What is Love” are Runaways biggest highlights, because guaranteed you will have them on your Chillout playlist this Summer. The production of “What is Love” takes you back to that classic Acoustic Pop sound we used to hear when Nelly Furtado was constantly taking over the charts, while “Washed Ashore” does not hold back on its intention to take you straight to the beach and make you dance until midnight, a song which will for sure be amongst the other Tropical House tracks you will be partying to this July.
Remember the name Levin, as you will either see his name in the UK Charts some time very soon or you will see his name in the credits for a massive hit he has written for someone else for sure.
