HARLEE RELEASES DEBUT EP 'IT'S PERSONAL & MUSIC VIDEO FOR 'GIANT'

After hearing the singer’s new E.P “It’s Personal,” it’s more than just obvious that Harlee is going to be a huge success…it’s inevitable, because the Cheshire-born Popstar-in-the-making has released a diverse, masterfully produced portfolio of Pop music, which ROUGH ONLINE quite simply can’t get enough of. Harlee’s new record opens with “Giant,” a Dance track reminiscent of Jess Glynn’s musical style, featuring a minor-to-major chord structure performed on the piano which throws us back to Clean Bandit’s smash hit collaboration with Zara Larrson “Symphony,” and an infectious bass line which you could so hear Katy B delivering on one of her masterful Rave pieces. All we can say is that Rough quite simply can’t enough of this song thanks to Giant’s catchy hook and current Pop production. However, “Now I Know” is the E.P’s main highlight, which steps away from the record’s Dance-orientated opening, and delves more into the darkness of “music royalty” Sia, with its’ minor chord structure and Martele’-style violins setting the mood nicely, whilst reminding you of the times when Rihanna has hit us with her Alternative, memorable, dramatic ballads. It is by far the best song Harlee has presented. A powerful number which is bound to get the singer the attention she deserves, specifically for her boldly, strong vocal performance.

“It’s Personal” continues with “Venom,” which delivers a catchy chorus where Harlee’s vocal is chopped up, specifically on the words “venom in your words,” and experimented with to produce the song’s memorable synth hook, created in the vein of Diplo, and the record comes to an end with the Tropical House-esque “Holding On.” In ROUGH ONLINE’s opinion…Harlee’s new E.P ”It’s Personal” has HIT written all over it, and if the music doesn’t speak for itself, check out the official music video for lead single “Giant,” where you will find the singer having as much fun as she possibly can, alongside street dancers and freestylers in front of Graffiti walls, and we wouldn’t expect anything less from the new diva on the block.
