Italian luxury brand Gucci
has unveiled its ArtLab in Casellina, located on the outskirts of Florence
which is near the Head Quarters of the Brand. The Building stands at 37,000 sqm and it is the first of its kind in the luxury industry. The Artlab also act as a centre for the production of both leather goods and shoes.
This new profound Artlab space houses 800 employees and it is enclosed within the multicoloured frontage of enormous Gucci paintings by Ignasi Monreal, Angelica Hicks and Coco Capitan. Also, the space is occupied with Gucci's pieces and objects. Another prominent feature is the red spiral staircase. The ArtLab space will act as in-house testing and sampling products out. The CEO and President of Gucci Marco Blizzari had this to say about the space..
“The tangible expression of a place to learn skills and techniques, a workshop to generate ideas, and ideas are the lifeblood of culture. The unveiling of Gucci ArtLab definitely represents one of the most remarkable achievements of Gucci’s unprecedented journey of the last three years and one of the most significant industrial investments today in our country. It is a testament to our belief in creativity, artisanal craftsmanship, innovation and technology, and sustainability, and our bond with our territory. I couldn’t be more grateful to all those who have made this dream come true, from the local and national authorities to Kering, to all of our colleagues who have been so visionary in absorbing new ideas from best-practice all around the world, to further strengthen our leadership.”
