It’s not every day that ROUGH ONLINE hears a catchy Pop tune with an important, emotive message that steers away from the usual themes of “getting drunk at the club.” Call Me Karizma’s new single “Life Of The Party,” is the answer to the current state of “chart” complacency, which lyrically involves an interesting, easily-relatable message, that even when you are known as the “life and soul” of any social occasion, you can still feel lonely and lost, delivered via one extremely memorable and catchy chorus, with the use of Karizma’s Mike Posner-esque, radio-friendly vocal tone as he sings “if I’m the life of the party, why do I stay home?”
It opens with a synth that reminds us of the Tropical House craze that Electro acts like Major Lazer started and Pop acts like Justin Bieber continued, over a great chord structure of minor to major and the perfect use of traditional and current Dance keyboard sounds building up to the chorus from the first verse, which have been cleverly filtered to create an epic musical atmosphere. A slick lead guitar nicely playing a similar melody to Life Of The Party’s hook, while Karizma sings emotional heartfelt lyrics like “if everyone says that they love me, why do I feel alone,” over a Hip-Hop rhythm on the beat that initially begins with the simplicity of a “finger-click” snare keeping tempo, all together delivers a very current R&B Pop music production which Rough Online are in awe of. What with Karizma’s clear and simple yet pitch-perfect voice, which specifically in the verses throws you back to The Chainsmokers’ Andrew Taggart and his vocal performance on their 2017 hit single “Paris,” it would be no surprise if this became an Indie hit in no time and gained a huge cult following. It is one of Rough Online’s favourite Pop songs to come out of 2018 so far, so don’t waste any time and download Call Me Karizma’s “Life Of The Party” out now on all online stores.
