Let us start off by pointing out that there aren’t enough Rappers today delivering a sound which represents a similar vibe to how and where Hip-Hop began, in the block parties of The Bronx. However, on this occasion we’re not referring to as early back as the 1970’s…Rough Online are specifically talking about the hot, R&B and Dance era of the late 1980’s. If we’re going to talk “real” here, the Colombian-born Urban artist Bogart is more easily comparable to early Snoop Dogg as opposed to the Drakes’ and Kanye Wests’ of today’s mainstream music scene, and for all the right reasons. It doesn’t get more throwback than the likes of his new track “Float” which opens with a synth that instantly sends you into a trance with its’ Sci-Fi, UFO-esque vibe, and Funky, masterfully performed, rhythm Electric guitars which drop in the second verse after the breakdown section.
The skilful MC who is more than capable of throwing multiple words into one bar alone which refer to socially-charged issues and the current state of Hip-Hop has already gained a huge fan base and online following via Spotify playlists just by releasing this one track, so it’s safe to say that Bogart’s career is only going to get bigger and bigger. And let’s not forget his use of the notably, traditional, lyrical “thing” to do as a Rapper, which is to “blow one’s own trumpet”…and Rough Online are right there with him, celebrating Bogart’s unique talent. The Florida-based music artist’s forthcoming debut album “Night In Mind” drops very soon. Download and stream the new single “Float” out now.
