Birkenstock | Supreme | No Collaboration

The Chief Executive Officer of Birkenstock Oliver Reicher
turned down a collaboration with one of the sought after streetwear brand Supreme and Vetements when he was approached the two brands mentioned as he mentioned in an interview. To quote Reicher “There’s no benefit for us except prostitution, because this is just prostitution” Reicher goes on to say
“I don’t give as** about fashion. Fashion is, pffftt, what is fashion? Inditex is doing fashion 12 times a year. What is this nonsense? But I know people are hungry for pure things. There’s a huge crowd of people heavily believing in and loving this brand. It’s not because of the nice people working here, because there are no nice people. It’s not because of the marketing, because there’s no marketing. There’s nothing. It must be the product”.
Perplexed or not, it looks it looks like he meant what he said. This does not mean the Birkenstock as a brand is not open to collaboration one should think as the brand was in bed with Rick Owens and Colette year back.
