Finnish DJ/Producer has been riding the wave of success since the debut of 2017. He's etched quite a buzz for himself after he remixed a Gorillaz for their Humanz album. And there was also the stunning EPs he delivered for labels Anjunadeep and Green. Then there was that time he rendered his own BBC Essential Mix. Yes, Yotto has been kicking up some buzz.
Now, most appropriately he'll get a chance to take in that wave both literally and figuratively when he heads to Australia for 4 exclusive dates in Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne. And he'll be sure to bring with him the gems we have come to swoon over on his most recent Chemicals EP. The title track and Second Life are firestarters for the dancefloor. These are the kinds of anthems we certainly expect to hear at Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Fest in Miami. But why shouldn't the land down under get the love as well?
Chemicals warps with its pulsing synth arps and pads, kick rattling through the floorboards at 128 bpms. It's dark and moody, with whoosh transitions that usher in the lead line and high hats that move at the speed of light. This is the dancefloor anthem that plays well after last call when hardcore clubbers dance until the sun comes up. And Second Life for its part is bright and effervescent. We can certainly hear night and day between these two titles. Yet for all their yin and yang, we can't imagine them without each other.
But you should be the judge for yourself. Chemicals is out now on the Green label. You can hear it here first. And if you are in shouting distance of any of Yotto's Australian shows you should, by all means, check him out live. Dates and details are on his site.
