LOUIS VUITTON
today announced the latest appointment of one of the relevant and fashion sensation VIRGIL ABLOH
to head its menswear division as the Artistic Director after Kim Jones departure. Releasing a statement, the Chairman & CEO of Louis Vuitton MICHAEL BURKE
had this to say...''Having followed with great interest Virgil¡s ascent since he worked with me at Fendi in 2006, I am thrilled to see how his innate creativity and disruptive approach have made him so relevant, not just in the world of fashion but in popular culture today .''
Virgil Abloh is the founder of one most popular streetwear fashion brand Off-White and through his free style of self-taught approach to his designs and creativity later led the brand to be a force to be reckoned with the industry. We've also witnessed Off-White and Virgil collaborate with brands such Jimmy Choo, Nike and soon to be IKEA. Now being appointed as the creative director of one the world's most luxurious brand we believe the right person was appointed as Virgil truly understands how to blend streetstyle into luxury which in turn will alleviate Louis Vuitton menswear on a different light.
Sharing his thoughts on the new appointment Virgil released a statement... ''it is an honor for me to accept the position of Men’s Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton. I find the heritage and creative integrity of the House are key inspirations and will look to reference them both while drawing parallels to modern times.'' Virgil Abloh will still continue to be involved with Off-White.
