The Struts have been busy boys since ROUGH ONLINE gave their single “Body Talks” a positive review earlier in the summer, which has since been re-released featuring Pop icon Kesha. To prepare all their fans for the Glam Rock band’s long-awaited second album “Young & Dangerous” out this October, two great new singles have been released recently, kick started with the camp, diva-rock song “Primadonna Like Me,” which throws a stupidly infectious chorus that will have you dancing the same way you would if Queen’s 1979 hit single “Don’t Stop Me Now” was on full-blast, whilst lead singer Luke Spiller sings away with the entertaining lyrics “do you wanna, do-do you wanna feel primadonna like me tonight?” In the verses you are vocally thrown back to the intense, “rolling-tongue” vibrato of Johnny Rotten, over a cowbell keeping the tempo going before a lively, full set of drums drop, alongside one catchy guitar riff, all together leaving you with the biggest smile on your face.
Even Primadonna’s music video wouldn’t be the same without The Struts showing off their glamorous Rock N’ Roll lifestyle in the most tongue-in-cheek, comedic way possible as Spiller either flaunts himself around a swimming pool, slightly resembling the image of a 90’s Jarvis Cocker, gambles his life away in a casino or goes ballistic in a mosh pit with his fans. Either way, the visual is exactly how it should have been…an entertaining satire on the concept of fame, and trust me Ladies & Gents…you will love Spiller’s in-your-face, loud, black and white ensemble and crazy hair, visually reminiscent of Alice Cooper who just so happens to make a little cameo appearance.
