Since ROUGH ONLINE gave a positive review on the single “Day Drunk” we expected Country singer Morgan Evan’s new E.P, aptly titled “The Morgan Evans E.P” to be just as fun and uplifting as his summer, Kid Rock-esque banger was, and Evans has not failed us one but. Opening with a heartfelt love song entitled “America,” you know you will be in for one hell of a treat, while Evans expresses his feelings for his one true love…America’s sweetheart, who he lyrically compares to Marilyn Monroe, beautifully sung over a classic, mid-tempo Country Pop-produced chorus, featuring Evan’s masterfully performed, acoustic guitar playing, overall reminiscent of Ryan Cabrera’s musical style.

However, Morgan Evans does not shy away from taking his new E.P in a slightly more Urban direction, with the use of an R&B groove under a catchy guitar riff on the song “I Do,” which eventually delves in a John Shanks-style production via reverb-effected lead Electrics, and a rhythm guitar playing a strong, major Pop chord structure, while “Kiss Somebody” delivers the confident, bold yet universal message to all his fans to not be afraid to express your love for someone else, and it would be no surprise if lyrically this was actually his own little, love letter to a special someone.

“The Morgan Evans E.P” comes to a close with the up-tempo “Young Again”…the perfect way to end Evans’ new portfolio of work, because it is simply the happiest, musical celebration you could think of, ensuring all participants drink as many whiskey shots as possible and party all night, as referenced by the singer in the song. “Young Again” will get you clapping to the beat and line dancing with your cowboy hat on to the traditional Country sound from the get-go, which features enough Banjos to make you go “Shania Twain-crazy” and Morgan’s pitch-perfect vocals that make you feel as though you have fallen into Nashville-bliss, and as result Rough Online have to applaud Grammy Award Winning music producer Chris DeStefano for his accomplished work.
