STEVE HEWITT Releases Free, Live Album Download

To promote his highly anticipated, forthcoming debut album “Bigger Than Words,” singer and songwriter Steve Hewitt has recently released a free, live album of songs to feature on his upcoming record via Bandcamp, and thoughtfully shared a little taster of what to expect from this great promo on YouTube, a live performance of his socially and politically-charged song “Sad Sad Ole World,” performed live at The Grey Lady, in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Hewitt’s home county. The sound of his effortless guitar picking and its’ atmospheric, reverb effect instantly and nostalgically throws you back to the stunning sound of Jewel’s 1995 debut album “Pieces Of You,” while his deep, emotional voice reminds us of Bruce Springsteen’s soulful voice during the “The Ghost of Tom Joad” era, specifically the song “Straight Time,” while delivering a lyrical concept about as little as turning on your TV to acknowledge the pain and suffering which occurs around the world, including profoundly sad words like “a sad, sad ole world crying out for peace” in Steve’s heart-wrenching lower register.

Sometimes the best music in the world is the most simple yet effective, with the use of hardly any production, but instead the use of a heartfelt vocal performance and delicately played acoustic guitar, beautifully performed by Steve Hewitt on this occasion. With Hewitt’s style of song writing he could potentially become the next big music artist in Folk and Country.
