Skepta "Air Max 97 Ak"

British rapper Skepta collaborates with sports brand Nike to create his own unique Nike trainers Air Max 97. An inspiration he got from his many  visit to Morocco. Essaouira, a coastal region to be precise and also a destination which is  popular among many rockstars. Also a region which plays a major part in Spkepta's collaboration in terms of colour, sound and stories.

Skepta describes his choice of Morocco and what impact its had on him as a country, what the trainers means to him and where he comes from...
“I found Morocco, and it was perfect. Everything I wanted to feel about peace, I found it there. I like the architecture, the pastel colours, the taxis, the way that you could just go into a small little souq, open a door and it brings you into a big, massive, beautiful new world that you would never have expected. We added the embroidery inspired by Morocco, on the tongue and on the back, and created a print on the insole that is reminiscent of what I saw there, as well.”
