ROUGH ONLINE gave a rave review on the band’s last single “Summer Sound” earlier this summer, and already they are back with brand new, fresh material, with an in-your-face Electro, Pop-Rock sound which proves that Romes have only got better at what they do best…making great music for the clubs, showcased on the new single “Out Of It.” Inspired by one of today’s biggest musical icons Beyonce, Romes’ new track opens with an industrial-esque, sinister-sounding synth, reminiscent of the opening to Taylor Swift’s “…Ready For It,” that despite giving off a minor-chord vibe cleverly introduces a major melody on top of this dark production via the use of lead singer Jacob Alexander’s slick vocals that are pitch-perfect, especially when reaching his higher register in head voice during one catchy chorus, where he sings the memorable hook “I, you know I’m never gonna’ give you up, you are the reason I’m breathing.”
Overall, it is a million miles away from “Summer Sound,” the last instalment from their debut, whereas this huge, Pop-Rock banger is enough on its’ own to get you excited about their forthcoming, second L.P. If the beat alone doesn’t make you want to head bang like it’s a Metal track as soon as the chorus drops in, then you must be mad. Along with its’ powerful hook, slick Electric lead guitars which throw you back to early Neptunes production and Tribal-esque drums leading up to each chorus section…Rough’s conclusion is that this is the best single that the Canadian, Alt-Pop band have released to date. Download and stream their new single “Out Of It” if you want to get ready for the weekend early…
