RAIGN's 'Out Of Time'

With the use of a minor chord structure reminiscent of Fefe Dobson’s 2010 single “Ghost,” that gives Raign’s new single a sinister feel, “overdrive” rhythm guitars, soaring synths and up-tempo drums, overall delivering the biggest force of musical drama going, it’s almost like listening to a 21st century spin on Bonnie Tyler’s 1984 smash hit from the Footloose soundtrack “Holding Out For A Hero.” Vocally, if Sinead O’Connor was ever to go in a Dance Rock direction it would most probably sound a little something like this, making Raign the new queen of the “Gaelic yodel” as she delivers one of the most infectious and captivating vocal performances of the year over one powerfully memorable and catchy chorus, that guaranteed you will repeat again and again and again. And let us not forget that Middle 8 section which vocally throws you back to the “Wuthering Heights” era of Kate Bush’s music career, because of its’ unique, operatic quality, concluding that Raign is without a doubt one of the best singers of 2018.

Hearing “Out Of Time” leaves you craving for more, so much that you can still feel the skilfully played electric lead guitar on top of that distorted bass line that builds up to one of the best hooks this year so far. Raign’s pitch-perfect voice will stun you and if there was any justice her new single would be a number 1 hit which deserves critical acclaim.
