London based Polychrome amp up the intensity before the much-anticipated release of their self-titled album. Just how have they managed to get their gears further up the adrenaline scale? Their new lead single Final Kiss is a nuanced kick in the pants. With a midtempo electropop vibe that oozes sensuality and funkiness, it harkens back to some of those darkly sweet gems M83 is known for. But here's the thing: this ain't M83. This is a female fronted production and a very authentic jolt of storytelling to boot.
Victoria and Olly certainly have evoked a lilting, haunting sense of sex appeal with the track as it coos, bumps, and sways through synths and soft vocal arrangements. Victoria's production is finessed and nuanced. If anything, we have a strong preview of what's to come with the release of Polychrome the album.
When do you play Final Kiss? As soon as you can. Here's a lovely addition to the playlist. And you can hear it here first.
