Ah, being young and free... wouldn't we all like to be forever young? And not just in our hearts and minds, but style-wise too? Well, let's say almost forever... we do want to have some options, but you get the gist. So, now it seems we almost can. With the youthful and carefree attitude of Boyhood it is even almost easy.
Boyhood is a Paris based streetwear label which combines the effortless cool of this day and age, social media-savvy young adults in the most authentic way, with outdoor elements and sporty details, all punctuated with a good dose of vibrant colour.
Designed by Benjamin Brouillet, Boyhood aims to free us of the archaic notion that at some point we all must grow up. Well, reality may claim otherwise, but who says we can't stay young in spirit and looks? After all, our looks is a reflection of our spirit, right? Brouillet draws direct influences and inspiration from his own youth. Growing up in Angers (France), Brouillet was an athlete, competing as a gymnast then as an ice-skater. These sporty influences are directly translated into his designs in the most innovative ways, such as bungee cord drawstrings, mesh vents, and side snaps button joggers. All in a 90's inspired colours and motives - outerwear shirts, jackets and double-lined fleece pants. Clever details such as detachable sleeves and hidden patch pockets round out the assortment make his new collection simply brilliant!
Boyhood sends an important message to all of us – young and the young-at-hear, to never forget where we came from, and to always keep looking to the bright future ahead.
