Yes, yes and hell yes…Japan’s Rap and Nu-Metal band ''Man With A Mission'' has hit us harder than they did with their last single “2045” with a track that throws you right back to Republica’s Brit Pop-tastic, 1996 single “Ready To Go.” The loud and furious chorus will make you absolutely crazy, via lead singer Tokyo Tanaka’s powerful vocals, all impressively sung in chest voice while he reaches them effortlessly melodic high notes with a similar tone to Creed’s Scott Stapp and the Trance-influenced synths that remind us slightly of 90’s Eurodance at times and Dance-rhythm drums will have your head banging away up to its’ dramatic ending which delivers one of the most emotive string arrangements we’ve heard all year, during the finale of their new single “Hey Now.”
''Man With A Mission'' have really gone all the way with this new track, in which Puddle Of Mudd fans will with no doubt think of this as a Dance-Rock version of “King Of The World” from Mudd’s 2003 album “Life On Display” due to the similarity in chord progression which gives ''Hey Now'' dark edgy mood and there is no way that listeners can avoid the relentless vocals of band member Jean-Ken Johnny who instantly throws you back to the “rap” tone of Kasabian’s Tom Meighan, specifically their 2004 single “Club Foot” and these are all the reasons why ROUGH ONLINE flipping loves this Experimental, Alt-Metal band so much…because this whole combination works perfectly, and if they keep releasing bangers like this one ROUGH will eventually become probably a bit too obsessed with their sound.
“Hey Now” is definitely their best single to date and if the track wasn’t enough to make you want to go and see ''Man With A Mission'' live in concert, check out the official music video on YouTube, which showcases one of 2018’s best music acts performing to their hardcore fans and we wouldn’t expect anything less from the wolf-masked quartet. ROUGH desperately wants to see one of the most exciting Rock bands currently in the world perform, specifically to see Jean-Ken perform that masterfully played guitar solo in Hey Now’s instrumental section that we can’t simply get enough of.
