It would be an injustice if this ridiculously talented music artist JUST LOUD did not receive the recognition he deserves after the release of his debut Electro Pop-Rock single “Electrified” and now the follow up single “Ghost” which has thrown ROUGH ONLINE because of the contrast in production, vocal sound and music video imagery in comparison to its’ predecessor. On “Electrified” we heard a softer, smoother tone to the singer’s voice, whereas on his brand new effort, Rock vocalists Kele Okereke, Lenny Kravitz and Brandon Flowers are all brought to the forefront, with an unusually, unexpected British-sounding twang as the singer from United States’ Virginia repeatedly sings “are we running out of time” in the song’s middle 8 section. Although Just Loud confirmed in a recent interview that the song questions whether or not someone could be in a relationship with his “Gemini”-like personality, ROUGH ONLINE interpreted “Ghost” very differently, specifically due to the symbolic message of “after-life” in the chorus where he sings in a very deep, haunting tone, effected with some distortion “what if we were ghosts, would you remember me?” With a slow, industrial sounding drum beat, and an electric guitar playing the riff off beat “reggae-style” in the verses, it’s fair to say that Just Loud approached this track a lot differently to “Electrified,” showcasing the diversity of his music.

The music video for “Ghost” is a very intriguing visual to watch, due to its  bizarre concept of a T.V placed outside a creepy-looking house, playing footage of a T.V inside a room, which then plays footage of another T.V inside a room, which then plays footage of Just Loud singing the song to the camera in front of a white screen. In this room there are many random items, such as a bed, a bath tub filled with water, a table full of ornaments, which all gradually become randomly demolished throughout the video, as the camera moves backwards and forwards revealing a messier, more demolished room until the song ends and the room is transformed back to its’ immaculate, glossy beginning. After two well written, catchy bangers and two visually captivating music videos, ROUGH ONLINE is so ready for his debut E.P “Episode 1” out June 15th, and we just know by hearing his refreshing, addictive sound that his cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” is going to be one of the most unique covers of the classic indie rock song we have ever heard. Even after hearing just 2 songs from this brilliant singer and songwriter, we are now ready for a full-length album.
