London based pop trio
PLYA
have unveiled their latest entree, Feast My Eye, for public consumption. It is everything we love about guilty pleasures: darkly sweet, bitterly crunchy, and unwittingly addictive. Feast My Eye tightropes between funky verses that pulse with a bit of a swing and heavier refrains that justly go for the jugular.
Distorted guitars melange sublimely with synths and a pulsing rhythm arrangement. We never quite rock out here. But we get the nice mix of edgy enough to turn headbangers necks, and cheeky enough to perk up pop tarts' ears. This is a revelation.
Lead singer Julia Sykes fuses a sleek, coquine sort of performance for the vocals. The ambiance is haunting, funky, and powerful. Here's another one for the trio to notch in the belt of accolades. Here the delicious new tune here first.
