The genius Hedi Slimane
has recently released his menswear ad campaign in for of a short film which was shot by the creative director himself for Celine. This release of the ad campaign comes after Celine announced that the House would be showcasing a sole menswear collection during Paris fashion in February. The pieces of sharp tailoring are deemed unisex as seen in a mix of photography and video. The campaign can be said to be carefully or strategically planned in the sense that even though it is geared towards men, the fact that it has the unisex appeal makes more appealing to both sexes in terms sales.
As mentioned earlier, Hedi Slimane back in October in London worked on the campaign by being in charge of taking of capturing the images, and as one sees on the clip, then the collection photographed is the spring/summer 2019 collection. The montage has Ruth, the French-synth-pop duo as the soundtrack. The music which was divulged in the 80s embodies the Des Jeunes Gens Movement which was a time being an individual with ones creativity was the forefront. Fans watching the campaign clip will probably pay more attention to watching the portraits of the models come up in their sharp slim cut suits. Great campaign clip and hopefully that is going to transcend in successful sales.
