L.A’s newest and independent R&B popstar, Armani Colon, has recently dropped another single, added to his catalogue of two E.P’s, entitled “Rowdy,” a smooth, slick and sensual piece of radio-friendly Pop music that you are bound to have on repeat after the first listen. While Colon takes on an “ole-skool Urban” approach to his music, with the use of his R.Kelly-esque vocal tone when singing in his lower register, the sensual singer and songwriter with slick swag throws some new production treats into the mix, including a vintage-sounding organ performing improvised melodies behind Armani’s vocals, alongside a current Hip-Hop style drum beat, which contains a similarly filtered snare to that heard in Rihanna’s 2016 Alternative-banger “Sledgehammer,” giving “Rowdy” a musically current vibe, ready for radio.
However, Rowdy’s hook is enough to keep Armani Colon in the commercial spotlight, as with a catchy melody he sings “we’re about get rowdy, just left the club, they got too crowded” with a delay-effect layered at the end of each line to give the track just that little bit of the atmospheric sound it needed. It would be no surprise if Colon’s name came up in the credits as a songwriter for other notable R&B singers of today, such as Chris Brown or Ne-Yo. Listen to the talented rapper and singer’s new single “Rowdy,” one of the most seductive vocal performances you would have heard all year, out now on download and streaming from all online stores.
